The Low Carbon Economy is the Future
With national and international experience, GSS assists its clients in meeting the goals set at the Climate Convention of achieving stabilization in the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere at a level that prevents dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.
Our work integrates the objectives and principles of the convention through the measurement of emissions, mitigation actions, adaptation of ecosystems to climate change, protection of biodiversity, public awareness and participation, international technical and scientific cooperation and technological innovation, without excluding economic aspects inherent in sustainable development.
We operate throughout the project cycle, from the feasibility study to the commercialization of the carbon credits generated. We have experience in projects under both the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Voluntary Markets (VCS, Social Carbon, Gold Standard, CCB, REDD +).
Inventory of Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The inventory is an important management tool, responsible for quantifying the greenhouse gas emissions related to the company’s activities and which will indicate ways for a low carbon operation. GSS elaborates inventories in response to the main market demands (INEA 64, Climate Seal, Brazil GHG Protocol Program, CETESB 254, ISO 14.064 and Decree 46.674).
Compensation of Emissions
GSS has a portfolio of socio-environmental projects so that compensation of GHG emissions can occur transparently and using the most recognized standards in the market. In addition, we have a team specialized in responsible communication and prepared for possible activations with the most different audiences.
Carbon Disclosure Project - CDP
We advise companies that participate in the CDP on three phases: the first is to carry out the company's diagnosis, identifying all its GHG emissions, climate governance, policies, actions, risks and opportunities; in the second, we performed the online filling of the questionnaire, using the information from the initial diagnosis, according to the CDP regulations; and finally, we advise on the evaluation and communication of the results.
The carbon footprint is the quantification of the direct and indirect emissions of GHG arising from the life cycle of a product. Through recognized methodologies in the market, GSS works on the acquisition of greenhouse gas emissions data since the extraction of raw materials to the final destination of a product. This work enables companies to identify efficiency possibilities within their production process and to mitigate possible emissions, consequently reducing their impact.
As foreseen in the Paris Agreement, the transition from the current economy to a low carbon economy will be of great importance, where it will be essential for companies to be able to allocate the cost of the impacts generated by their greenhouse gas emissions. The two most discussed forms of carbon pricing are carbon market and emissions taxation. Companies can generate profits by investing in measures of energy efficiency and use of alternative sources, reducing costs, emissions and the negative impact that carbon pricing may bring to the company.
Experience in 12 countries
186 inventories of greenhouse gas emissions produced
More than 40 events with their GHG emissions offsetted
More than one million carbon credits generated
